How to get there Via Fusarelli 1, I-28010 Artò (VB), Madonna del Sasso, province of Verbania / Piedmont
1) Motorway exit Arona> Borgomanero> Gozzano> San Maurizio d'Opaglio
(at the traffic lights straight on, direction Alzo)> in front of Alzo at the roundabout behind the factory GIACOMINI 2. take the exit> continue approx.Continue straight on for 2 km> turn left towards Santuario Madonna del Sasso> continue on a winding road until the fork in the road> turn right towards Artò on a winding road> past the church, on the left is a car park> continue straight ahead and take the second left : Via Riotti, but only with a small car!
Go straight ahead, past the Casa delle Rose, on the corner of Via Fusarelli, about 50 meters further to the right is a parking space for up to 3 vehicles. Here is usually always a place frei.Wenn not, then park either down in front of the church or further up the village exit left on the parking lot.
If you arrive by SUV or off-road vehicle, please park in the lower or upper parking lot, as the Via Riotti / Via Fusarelli is too narrow to enter. In this case, however, to load or unload your luggage or your purchases, with the hazard warning lights on, you can stop briefly in the small square next to Via Riotti.
Tips for holidaymakers in Artò
Drive down towards the lake to Alzo. There is a cheap restaurant "Al caffè dell'Osteria" at the city gate of Alzo, with sympathetic cartridge, lunch and dinner menu (around 20 euros including bottled wine and water) and on Saturday even live music. Al fresco. Tel.: +39 377 4730214, +39 0322969882
A small specialty shop with regional delicacies can be found on the edge of the piazza in Alzo "Il buthigin". But also for the daily need for bread, rolls, vegetables, salad and fruit, the small shop is recommended. In the summer months you sit on the beautiful piazza in front of it and enjoy a few bites with a glass of Prosecco. You will also find a bank with ATM, post office, pharmacy, hairdresser and a small privately run hotel.
San Maurizio d'Opaglio
What does not exist in Alzo or Pella, there is in San Maurizio. Ever important: a gas station. And at least as important: in the pharmacy on the piazza in front of the town hall, a very friendly, German-speaking pharmacist works.Of course, there is a post office, a wonderful pasticceria, a small weekly market (always Tuesday in the square in front of the town hall), many restaurants, bars, pizzerias, a Conad supermarket or at the roundabout nearby exit a very neat supermarket SAVOINI, a well-stocked Enotheka ZOPPIS - which also offers wonderful olive oil and regional delicacies (eg handmade chocolate bars from Borgomanero: AUDERE) and a household and hardware store.
