Ronco di Pella is a small hamlet on the west bank, directly opposite Pettenasco, diagonally opposite the main tourist town Orta San Giulio and the island of San Giulio. The road coming from Pella leads to Ronco and ends after about 3 km at the parking lot above Roncos. Here it goes about 60 m downhill to your holiday casa Ronco. Ronco has about 40 permanent residents, with a slightly increasing trend. The village has always been a safe haven since it was founded. Access was once only possible via a footpath or the lake. People used to live from the handling of wood and stones that were shipped or rafted across the lake. All houses are built close together and still form a compact unit. A unique gem that is a listed building.
Between Easter and the end of October, the ships of the line, which stop a few meters from the lake promenade at the shipping area, take you to the places on the lake. On Thursday, visit the market in Omegna, the island of San Giulio with its winding streets and magnificent villas, and of course the picturesque town of Orta San Giulio, with its shops and restaurants.
Wonderful hiking trails start right on your doorstep in the surrounding hills of the west bank and along the lake. Only approxIt is a 5-minute drive to Pella, the tranquil town with a picture-perfect lake promenade, ship landing stage and restaurant with fine Piedmont cuisine, a trattoria and pizzeria with lake views and a trendy bar in the luxurious boutique hotel. In the old town there is a hairdresser, a small aperitif bar with nice snacks, and - newly opened in Pella's former paper mill in February 2020 - a modern trattoria, the patron of whom places value on freshness and high quality of the ingredients. Another Pella highlight for our guests! The restaurant is hidden right next to the church, on the old stone bridge over the Pellino. In Pella and the surrounding area you will find what you need for your relaxing holiday.Even the best gelateria in Lake Orta! In the medieval fortification tower, you can indulge in ice creams such as "Gianduiotti", "San Giulio" or "Viola": violet ice cream - all homemade, of course. If you haven't had breakfast yet, you can do it here on the small piazza in front of the Torre. A nice place - not just for breakfast - is the café-bar between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. between Pella and the little church of San Filiberto. From Pella you can take the water taxi or the liner to the island and to Orta San Giulio, rent a boat in the marina or simply indulge in the Dolce far niente.
